Cosmetic Botox Procedures

botox cosmetic proceduresBotox injectable cosmetics can often be referred to as a miracle anti-aging treatment. The cosmetic industry has come far since only offering invasive surgeries and facelifts to make you appear years younger. Non-invasive treatments, specifically injectables, have been hitting the market hard and don’t seem to be fading in the near future. The saturated market of information can seem complex and overwhelming at times. However, we’re keeping it simple and breaking down the details for your cosmetic Botox procedures.

Botox Explained

Botox is a toxin produced using bacterial toxin botulin type A. The injectable cosmetic is successful at treating wrinkles, fine lines, and creases by temporarily paralyzing the muscles. Therefore, when injected beneath the skin it blocks the nerve signals to our muscles. As a result, the muscles we use when we show facial expressions are no longer contracting and creating deeper lines and creases across the face.

What Can Cosmetic Botox Procedures Do

Botox is both a great cosmetic treatment option as well as medical. When used in a cosmetic setting, Botox has the ability to turn around signs of aging, prevent the natural aging process, and leave you with smooth and refreshing skin. In a medical setting, Botox can help with migraines, excessive sweating, muscle spasms, and more. In other words, Botox has a variety of uses that can be helpful to many people for many reasons.

Botox Procedure Explained

Botox is a non-surgical, non-invasive, and virtually pain-free procedure. So, most patients don’t feel much, if any, discomfort. Although, you can request ice packs or topical numbing cream prior to treatment. Botox injections should only be performed in a professional environment. Here, your service provider will go over the procedure and unit amount with you prior to administering injections. Then, your injector will use a very small needle to place the Botox under the skin and into the muscle. The actual injection process takes 10-15 minutes.

After Botox Care

There is essentially no downtime necessary after cosmetic Botox procedures. That’s to say, you can go about your day as you were with a few necessary things to consider. To clarify, you don’t want to rub or massage the area of injections and avoid excessive heat or exercise for at least 24 hours after your treatment. In order to maintain your fresh, new, smooth look follow up treatments are required.

Results of Cosmetic Botox Procedures

Botox results typically show within 3 days after your injections. But, you do want to allow a full 14 days to see the most maximum results. Botox unit amounts vary from patient to patient. Your injector will discuss the amount needed to achieve your optimal care results. Above all, be sure to only receive injections from certified medical professionals.
