Who gets laser tattoo removal?

People get tattoo removal for all different types of reasons. Some people remove tattoos in order to make room for new ones. Other people no longer like the tattoo because of the design or perhaps they got the name of an ex tattooed on them. Whatever the reason, tattoo removal is always an available option for people who are looking to get rid of an old tattoo.

Here are some stats about who has tattoos:

  • 3 in 10 adults have a tattoo
  • Close to half of millennials have a tattoo
  • 6% of baby boomers have a tattoo
  • Of those who have a tattoo, 69% have 2 or more

Here are some of the top reasons people regret getting a tattoo:

  1. They were too young when they got the tattoo
  2. It no longer fits their lifestyle
  3. They got someone’s name whom they are no longer with
  4. The tattoo was poorly done
  5. The tattoo isn’t meaningful

Who can get laser tattoo removal?

No matter how big or small your tattoo is, you can get laser tattoo removal. Black ink tattoos and color ink tattoo are able to be removed. A consultation will give you a better idea of how many sessions you will need. The amount of sessions needed is dependent upon the size and color of the tattoo and varies from tattoo to tattoo, as no one’s tattoos are the same. Regardless, you will be able to walk away tattoo-free after having multiple sessions of laser tattoo removal in Dallas at our medspa.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Laser tattoo removal is a treatment where the lasers go deep into the dermal layers of the skin. These are the layers where the ink is set in. The laser goes into this layer and breaks apart the pigment of the ink. Once the pigment is broken up it will then be flushed through the lymphatic system naturally. Due to the fact that your body can’t process too much pigment at one time the biggest tattoo area that can be done in one session needs to be smaller than half a piece of paper. This is just for the safety of you as a client as we don’t want your body to process too much pigment at once.

Treatment Sessions

For laser tattoo removal in Dallas, about ten to fifteen sessions are needed on average in order for tattoos to be completely removed. In order to know the exact amount of sessions needed a consultation is needed in order to assess your tattoo. Treatments need to be spaced out every eight to twelve weeks in order to see the best results. Following your treatment, you may be swollen and experience slight itching a few days after the treatment. Other than that you can continue with your normal activities!
